STATEMENT

陶芸の世界に足を踏み入れる前、分子生物学の研究をしていました。
細胞内小器官であるミトコンドリアを中心に、ガン転移や免疫作用機序などを研究し、
細胞の培養などを朝から晩まで行なっていました。

顕微鏡下で毎日見ていた細胞の増殖、分裂、そして死。
その研究の過程で感銘を受けた
生命の力、細胞の増殖と躍動をテーマに自己表現作品を制作しています。

私は、
「研究者」は今世の中にない定理や理論を研究を通じて証明し「論文として世に発表する」
「作家」は今世の中にないアート表現を自分の中から生み出して「作品として世に発表する」
「本質」は同じだと考えています


I create my works with a motif that depicts how the inner power of cells shapes the radience of life. 
When I’m painting, I mindlessly add cells to each other, one by one as if the cells themselves are multiplying.
I want to create something that both moves and inspires.

Academic researchers study phenomena to produce understanding where it doesn’t yet exist in order to publish their discovery in the form of a research paper. 
The Artist produces a new creation by expressing something of her or his inner self, for the purpose of presenting it to the world. In essence, I believe, they are the same thing.
